Vince Guaraldi project

  • Bop Shop Records 1460 Monroe Ave Rochester United States (map)

John Viviani & Friends plays the music of Vince Guaraldi:

A guitar player arranging a tribute to pianist Vince Guaraldi (of Peanuts fame) may seem like an odd occurrence, but Viviani holds a deep reverence for the instantly recognizable melodies and playful swinging style of the late Guaraldi. Viv has put together a talented group of players to perform the beautiful Guaraldi tunes that many have known since childhood. This show will feature Jon Stevens on drums, Michael Edwards on Sax, Flute, and violin, Sheldon Tripi on bass, and Gregg Dougherty-Herman on piano.

Viv is a veteran in the Rochester music scene leading original bands Filthy Funk, Blue Falcon, and the Able Bodies over the years, while also playing in successful party band Shine. He's a longtime guitar instructor and has worked and co-written music with notable Rochester musicians such as Danielle Ponder, Eli Flynn, Jimmie Highsmith and many others. He lives with his family in Brighton, NY.
