A composer-led ensemble performs from a shared improvisational system shaped by color. Four core performers (Charles Pillow-woodwinds, Dave Rivello-Synth, Nathan Smith-saxophone, and Benjamin Magruder-viola) guide a group of 9 instrumentalists as a single projected color field slowly shifts throughout the performance. As the color changes, the musicians respond in real time, translating visual information into evolving texture, harmony, and gesture. Working from short composed motifs, the ensemble collectively interprets each shift in tone and intensity, allowing the music to continuously reshape itself.
