Geva Theatre Center presents “Journey to the Son: A Celebration of Son House
This once-in-a-lifetime, four-day festival weaves together music, theatre, film, audio recordings, storytelling and lectures to celebrate Rochester’s adopted son, Eddie “Son” House.

It’s Aug. 26-29. Geva has all the information about performances and tickets.

Bop Shop Records is pleased to be the merchandise coordinator for this four-day event. We will be set up in the lobby at Geva and will have a selection of Son House’s recordings as well as other of his contemporaries’ recordings, both on vinyl and CD. We will be open each day from 4 until 10 pm.
In addition, we will have copies of “Preachin’ the Blues: The Life and Times of Son House,” by Daniel Beaumont, as well as “Finding Son House,” a book by Richard Gardner, on sale at the booth. A portion of all proceeds will go to support Geva Theatre Center.

The Blues are in the store, too: We have recently acquired a substantial blues LP collection of over 1,500 pristine titles and will have that on display for the first time and for sale at the store, 1460 Monroe Ave., Brighton, during the Son House festival and beyond.
